Elder Rector, Mike Sweat, and Ben Gomme, pose in front of the 1st Mesa Kiva which they are going to repair this spring. Posing with them is Jerika and Megan who are bringing a bunch of teen volunteers down from the Salt lake area to help with a lot of the back breaking manual labor that has to be done. Much of the dirt moving has to be done by hand, filling up buckets to take it away. Heavy dirt moving machinery can not be gotten onto 1st Mesa and into the Walipi Village where this Kiva is located.
